CVE-2024-30446: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in CRM Perks Forms WordPress plugin affecting versions up to 1.1.4. The vulnerability was reported on January 20, 2024, and publicly disclosed on March 28, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) issue. It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) from NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it with a score of 6.5 (Medium) with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website, which would be executed when guests visit the site. The attack requires contributor-level privileges or higher to exploit (Patchstack).

The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with at least Contributor-level access to exploit. Patchstack has classified this as a low-priority issue that is unlikely to be exploited (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.1.5 of the CRM Perks Forms plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.1.5 or later to remediate the vulnerability. Additionally, Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking potential attacks until users can update to the fixed version (Patchstack).
