CVE-2024-3308: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The HT Mega – Absolute Addons For Elementor WordPress plugin contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-3308) discovered in versions up to and including 2.4.9. The vulnerability exists in the Image Grid widget's attributes due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping (NVD).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) by NIST with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. Wordfence has assigned a slightly higher CVSS score of 6.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (NVD).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher privileges to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page (NVD).

The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher to exploit. The attack vector is network-accessible (AV:N) with low attack complexity (AC:L) (NVD).

Users should update to version 2.5.0 or later of the HT Mega – Absolute Addons For Elementor plugin to address this vulnerability (NVD).
