CVE-2024-3340: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Colibri Page Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (CVE-2024-3340) via the plugin's 'colibri-gallery-slideshow' shortcode in versions up to and including 1.0.272. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes (NVD CVE).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The issue stems from improper neutralization of input during web page generation, classified as CWE-79. The vulnerability affects authenticated users with contributor-level access and above (NVD CVE).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an affected page, potentially compromising the security of site visitors (NVD CVE).
