Overview

The Country State City Dropdown CF7 plugin for WordPress contains an SQL Injection vulnerability (CVE-2024-3495) that affects versions up to and including 2.7.2. The vulnerability was discovered by Krzysztof Zając from CERT PL and was publicly disclosed on May 21, 2024 (Wordfence).

Technical details

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient escaping of user-supplied parameters ('cnt' and 'sid') and inadequate preparation of existing SQL queries. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 9.8 (Critical) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H (NVD).

Impact

This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries to existing queries, potentially enabling them to extract sensitive information from the database (NVD).
