CVE-2024-44047: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in IDX Broker IMPress for IDX Broker WordPress plugin, affecting versions up to 3.2.2. The vulnerability was reported on June 22, 2024, and publicly disclosed on September 16, 2024. This security issue has been assigned the identifier CVE-2024-44047 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) issue. It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L from Patchstack, while NIST assigned a slightly lower score of 5.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 3.2.3 of the IMPress for IDX Broker plugin. Users are advised to update to version 3.2.3 or later to remediate the vulnerability. Additionally, Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking any attacks until users update to a fixed version (Patchstack).
