CVE-2024-4608: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The SellKit – Funnel builder and checkout optimizer for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-4608) affecting all versions up to and including 1.9.8. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on June 6, 2024, impacting WordPress installations using the SellKit plugin (NVD).

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'id' parameter. The issue has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) by NVD with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Wordfence assigned a score of 6.4 (Medium) with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N (NVD).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page (NVD).

The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with at least contributor-level privileges to exploit. The attack vector is network-accessible and requires low attack complexity (NVD).

Users should upgrade to version 2.0.0 or later of the SellKit plugin, which contains patches for this vulnerability. The fixes can be found in multiple files including acceptance.php, field-base.php, and optin.php (NVD).
