CVE-2024-47638: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the vCita Online Booking & Scheduling Calendar for WordPress plugin, affecting versions up to 4.4.6. The vulnerability was initially reported on July 31, 2024, and publicly disclosed on September 30, 2024. This security issue has been assigned the identifier CVE-2024-47638 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (Cross-site Scripting) issue. It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.1 (High) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability is tracked under CWE-79, which relates to improper neutralization of input during web page generation (NVD).

The Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject harmful scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the affected website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the compromised site (Patchstack).
