CVE-2024-51839: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Meini Utech Spinning Earth WordPress plugin through version 1.2. The vulnerability was discovered by researcher SOPROBRO and was assigned CVE-2024-51839 on November 19, 2024. This DOM-Based XSS vulnerability affects all versions of the Utech Spinning Earth plugin up to and including version 1.2 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79). It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium) with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires contributor-level privileges or higher to exploit (Patchstack).

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site (Patchstack).

Currently, there is no official fix available for this vulnerability. The issue was initially reported on October 26, 2024, and an early warning was sent to Patchstack customers on November 8, 2024 (Patchstack).
