CVE-2024-52459: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Chameleoni Jobs WordPress plugin contains a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions up to and including 2.5.2. The vulnerability was discovered by João Pedro Soares de Alcântara and publicly disclosed on November 18, 2024 (Patchstack, WPScan).

The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and has received a CVSS v3.1 score of 7.1 (HIGH) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The issue stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin's code (Patchstack).

This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when users perform specific actions, such as clicking on a malicious link. The successful exploitation could lead to compromised data confidentiality, integrity, and availability at a low level (WPScan).

Currently, there is no official fix available for this vulnerability. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate the issue by blocking potential attacks until an official fix becomes available (Patchstack).
