CVE-2024-54265: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in UkrSolution's Barcode Scanner with Inventory & Order Manager WordPress plugin. The vulnerability, identified as CVE-2024-54265, affects versions through 1.6.6 and was disclosed on December 10, 2024. The vulnerability was initially reported by researcher Aiden (Thái An) on November 26, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79). It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.1 (High) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. This indicates that the vulnerability is network-accessible, requires low attack complexity, needs no privileges, but does require user interaction. The scope is changed, with low impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability (NVD, Patchstack).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.6.7 of the plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.6.7 or later immediately. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking any attacks until users update to a fixed version (Patchstack).
