WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Missing Authorization vulnerability was discovered in Bill Minozzi Car Dealer plugin affecting versions through 4.46. The vulnerability allows exploiting incorrectly configured access control security levels (Patchstack, NVD).

The vulnerability is classified as a broken access control issue with a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 4.3 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N. The issue stems from missing authorization, authentication or nonce token checks in certain functions that could allow unprivileged users to execute higher privileged actions (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has a low severity impact and is considered unlikely to be exploited. If successfully exploited, it could allow unauthorized users to perform actions intended for higher privileged users (Patchstack).

The vulnerability requires Subscriber-level privileges to exploit. It was discovered by researcher Aiden (Thái An) and reported on December 5, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 4.48 of the Car Dealer plugin. Users are advised to update to version 4.48 or later to remove the vulnerability (Patchstack).
