CVE-2024-56062: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the WP Royal Royal Elementor Addons WordPress plugin. The vulnerability, identified as CVE-2024-56062, was reported on December 18, 2024, by security researcher Robert DeVore. The vulnerability affects versions up to 1.3.987 of the Royal Elementor Addons plugin (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) issue. It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium) with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires authenticated access with Contributor-level privileges or higher to exploit (Patchstack).

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.7.1 of the Royal Elementor Addons plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.7.1 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users have the option to enable auto-updates for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
