CVE-2024-56241: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in WPKoi Templates for Elementor plugin affecting versions through 3.1.3. The vulnerability was reported by João Pedro Soares de Alcântara on November 23, 2024, and was publicly disclosed on December 30, 2024. This security issue has been assigned CVE-2024-56241 and allows for Stored XSS attacks in the WordPress plugin (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) issue. It received a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 6.5 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires Contributor or higher level privileges to exploit (NVD, Patchstack).

This vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 3.1.4 of the WPKoi Templates for Elementor plugin. Users are advised to update to version 3.1.4 or later to remove the vulnerability (Patchstack).
