CVE-2024-9019: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The SecuPress Free — WordPress Security plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-9019) affecting all versions up to and including 2.2.5.3. The vulnerability exists in the plugin's secupress_check_ban_ips_form shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes (CVE Details).

The vulnerability is classified as a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, specifically of the stored variety, which occurs due to improper sanitization of user input in the secupress_check_ban_ips_form shortcode functionality. The vulnerability has been assigned CWE-79 (Cross-site Scripting) classification (NVD Report).

This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page (CVE Details).
