WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Element Pack Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 5.10.2) contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in the 'Open Map Widget' marker_content parameter. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on November 5, 2024, affecting the plugin's functionality related to header, footer, template library, dynamic grid, carousel, and remote arrows components (NVD).

The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'Open Map Widget' marker_content parameter. It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N.
