Overview

The Spectra – WordPress Gutenberg Blocks plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the uagb block in versions up to and including 2.19.0. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on March 26, 2025 (NVD).

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the uagb block component. Impact

The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an affected page (NVD).

The vulnerability was patched in version 2.19.1 released on February 19, 2025. Users are strongly advised to update to this version or later. The update specifically addressed this security bug, with credit given to Peter Thaleikis for privately reporting it to the development team (WordPress Plugin).
