CVE-2025-22806: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Modernaweb Studio's Black Widgets For Elementor plugin, affecting versions up to 1.3.8. The vulnerability was identified on January 7, 2025, and was assigned CVE-2025-22806. This security issue allows for DOM-Based XSS attacks in the WordPress plugin (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium) with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The issue is classified under CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). The vulnerability requires contributor-level privileges or higher to exploit (NVD, Patchstack).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 1.3.9 of the Black Widgets For Elementor plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.3.9 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users have the option to enable auto-update for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
