CVE-2025-26734: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Hester WordPress theme contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, identified as CVE-2025-26734, affecting versions up to and including 1.1.10. The vulnerability was discovered on March 24, 2025, and publicly disclosed on March 27, 2025. This security issue affects the peregrinethemes Hester theme and stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping (WPScan).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (CWE-79) issue with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium), with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher to exploit (NVD, WPScan).

When successfully exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page, potentially leading to unauthorized data access, session hijacking, or other client-side attacks (WPScan).

Currently, there is no known fix available for this vulnerability. Users of the Hester theme should consider implementing additional security controls or upgrading to a newer version when available (WPScan).
