CVE-2025-47570: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in villatheme WooCommerce Photo Reviews plugin (CVE-2025-47570). The vulnerability affects versions through 1.3.13 and was discovered by security researcher Bonds. The issue was initially reported on September 1, 2024, and publicly disclosed on September 9, 2025 (AttackerKB, Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') issue. It has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.1 (Medium severity), with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The attack vector is network-based, requires low attack complexity, needs no privileges, but does require user interaction (Patchstack).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects and advertisements, into affected websites. These injected payloads would be executed when guests visit the site. The impact affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability at a low level (Patchstack).

Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking attacks until an official fix becomes available. Website administrators are advised to implement the virtual patch immediately. No official fix is currently available from the vendor (Patchstack).
