WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The WoodMart plugin for WordPress contains a Local File Inclusion vulnerability (CVE-2025-6746) affecting all versions up to and including 8.2.3. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on July 8, 2025, impacting the WoodMart WooCommerce WordPress theme developed by xtemos (NVD).

The vulnerability exists in the 'layout' attribute functionality, which allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to include and execute arbitrary .php files on the server. This vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 8.8 (HIGH) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-98 (Improper Control of Filename for Include/Require Statement in PHP Program) (NVD).

The vulnerability allows attackers to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, and potentially achieve code execution in cases where .php files can be uploaded and included. This poses a significant risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of affected WordPress installations (NVD).
