CVE-2026-27152 is a DM communication-preference bypass vulnerability in Discourse, an open source discussion platform. Prior to patched versions, an authenticated user could exploit the Chat::AddUsersToChannel function to add targets who have blocked, ignored, or muted them to an existing direct message (DM) channel, circumventing per-recipient private message restrictions enforced during DM channel creation. Affected versions include all releases before 2025.12.2, versions 2026.1.0 up to (but not including) 2026.1.1, and pre-release 2026.2.0 builds. Technical details
