CVE-2020-9669: 
Adobe Creative Cloud vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application versions 5.1 and earlier were found to contain a vulnerability due to lack of exploit mitigations (CVE-2020-9669). The vulnerability was discovered by Zhongcheng Li of Topsec Alpha Team and was disclosed in Adobe's July 2020 security update (Adobe Bulletin, NVD).

The vulnerability (CVE-2020-9669) is classified as an important security issue caused by a lack of exploit mitigations in the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application. While the vulnerability has been assigned an important severity rating, Adobe has ranked it with a priority rating of 2, indicating systems could be at increased risk based on past history, though no known exploits were reported at the time of disclosure (Threatpost).

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to privilege escalation in the context of the current user. This means an attacker could potentially elevate their privileges to perform unauthorized actions within the scope of the current user's permissions (NVD).

Adobe addressed this vulnerability in their July 2020 security update. Users were advised to update their Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application to versions newer than 5.1 to protect against this vulnerability (Adobe Bulletin).
