CVE-2021-2065: 
MySQL vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: Optimizer) affecting versions 8.0.22 and prior. This vulnerability allows high privileged attackers with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server (Oracle Advisory).

The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 Base Score of 4.9 (Medium) with vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H. The attack requires network access and high privileges, but has low attack complexity and requires no user interaction (NVD).

Successful exploitation can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash, leading to a complete Denial of Service (DoS) of MySQL Server (Oracle Advisory, NVD).

The vulnerability is considered easily exploitable by attackers with high privileges and network access through multiple protocols. The attack requires no user interaction but does need high-level privileges to execute (NVD).

Oracle has released patches to address this vulnerability in MySQL version 8.0.23. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to this version or apply appropriate security patches (Gentoo Advisory, NetApp Advisory).
