CVE-2021-22975: 
F5 BIG-IP Advanced Firewall Manager vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The vulnerability (CVE-2021-22975) affects BIG-IP systems, specifically versions 16.0.x before 16.0.1.1, 15.1.x before 15.1.2.1, and 14.1.x before 14.1.3.1. The vulnerability was discovered and initially recorded on January 6, 2021. Under certain circumstances, the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) may restart on the BIG-IP system while processing large bursts of traffic (MITRE CVE).

The vulnerability is related to the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) component of BIG-IP systems. The issue manifests when the system processes large bursts of traffic, which can trigger an unexpected restart of the TMM (MITRE CVE).

The primary impact of this vulnerability is a potential denial of service condition. When exploited, it can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel to restart, potentially disrupting network traffic processing and affecting system availability (CERT-FR).

F5 has released patched versions to address this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to version 16.0.1.1, 15.1.2.1, or 14.1.3.1 depending on their current version track. Systems that have reached End of Software Development (EoSD) are not evaluated (MITRE CVE).
