CVE-2021-24419: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2021-24419 affects the WP YouTube Lyte WordPress plugin versions below 1.7.16. The vulnerability was discovered on May 3, 2021, and publicly disclosed on June 16, 2021. This security issue is classified as an Authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that affects the plugin's settings page (WPScan).

The vulnerability stems from improper sanitization and escaping of the 'lyte_yt_api_key' and 'lyte_notification' settings before they are output back to the page. This security flaw allows high-privilege users to inject XSS payloads through these settings. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS score of 4.8 (medium severity) and is categorized under CWE-79 (Cross-Site Scripting) (WPScan).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated users with high privileges to store and execute malicious JavaScript code on the affected WordPress site. This could potentially lead to administrative account compromise and unauthorized actions being performed on behalf of authenticated users (WPScan).
