NixOS vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Buffer overflow vulnerability in function gf_fprintf in os_file.c in gpac before 1.0.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code. The fixed version is 1.0.1. This vulnerability was discovered in September 2021 and is tracked as CVE-2021-32268 (NVD).

The vulnerability exists in the gf_fprintf function within os_file.c of the GPAC software. It manifests as a heap-buffer-overflow that can be triggered through the url_box_dump function in box_dump.c. The vulnerability has a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.8 (HIGH) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H (NVD).
