SmartBear Collaborator Server vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Overview

SmartBear CodeCollaborator v6.1.6102 was discovered to contain a clickjacking vulnerability in the web UI that would allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct clickjacking attacks (AttackerKB).

Technical details

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation of iFrame data in HTTP requests sent to the affected application. The issue specifically relates to improper restriction of rendered UI layers or frames in the web interface (GitHub Gist).
