CVE-2024-2665: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Premium Addons for Elementor WordPress plugin (CVE-2024-2665) contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability affecting all versions up to and including 4.10.27. The vulnerability was discovered and reported by Dau Hoang Tai, with public disclosure occurring on April 9, 2024 (WPScan).

The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's button functionality. The issue has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (NVD).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever any user accesses the compromised page, potentially leading to unauthorized data access or manipulation (WPScan).

The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with at least contributor-level privileges to exploit. Once the attacker has the necessary access, they can inject malicious scripts through the plugin's button functionality (NVD).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 4.10.28 of the Premium Addons for Elementor plugin. Users are strongly advised to update to this version or later to protect against potential attacks (WPScan).
