CVE-2024-30430: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in WP Email Newsletter Team - FluentCRM affecting versions through 2.8.44. The vulnerability was identified and reported on February 21, 2024, and publicly disclosed on March 28, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-site Scripting (XSS) issue, identified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). It has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 4.8 (MEDIUM) from NIST with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assigned a slightly higher score of 5.9 (MEDIUM) with the vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website which will be executed when guests visit the site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability requires administrator privileges to exploit and user interaction for successful execution. The security issue has been assessed as having a low severity impact and is considered unlikely to be exploited (Patchstack).

Users are advised to update to FluentCRM version 2.8.45 or later to remove the vulnerability. The fix has been implemented in version 2.8.45 (Patchstack).
