CVE-2025-4224: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The wpForo + wpForo Advanced Attachments plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2025-4224) that was disclosed on June 2, 2025. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 3.1.3. The issue exists in the media upload functionality of the plugin, allowing authenticated users with Custom-level access and above to inject malicious scripts (NVD).

The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the media upload names functionality. It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.2 (HIGH) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) (Wordfence).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Custom-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the affected page, potentially leading to unauthorized actions and data theft (NVD).
