CVE-2025-42969: 
SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP vulnerability analysis and mitigation

SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and ABAP Platform contains a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability that allows an unauthenticated attacker to inject a malicious script into a dynamically crafted URL. This vulnerability was disclosed on July 7, 2025, as part of SAP's July 2025 Patch Day (NVD, GBHackers).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 6.1 (Medium) with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation - Cross-site Scripting) (NVD).

When successfully exploited, the attacker can access or modify sensitive information within the scope of victim's web browser, with no impact on the availability of the application. The attack requires user interaction, as the victim needs to be tricked into clicking on the crafted URL (NVD).

SAP has released security patches as part of their July 2025 Patch Day. Organizations running affected versions of SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and ABAP Platform should apply the available patches immediately (GBHackers).
