Wiz recognized with top score for the current offering category in The Forrester Wave™: Cloud Workload Security, Q1, 2024

Learn why Forrester recognized Wiz as the top ranked in the current offering category on the market out of the top 13 providers, and how their analysis connects with the Wiz vision.

Forrester has published The Forrester Wave™: Cloud Workload Security (CWS), Q1 2024, which includes Wiz as a first-time entrant. In this blog post, I’ll talk about how Wiz fared in the report; how, for us, Forrester’s analysis connects to our product vision; and why we believe ours is the right approach to cloud workload security, given the demands on security teams today.

We believe that the fact that Wiz received the highest score in the current offering supports Forrester’s outlook that Wiz has the strongest current offering on the market out of the 13 providers that were included in the evaluation. The Forrester Wave™ reports serve as important touchstones for technology buyers, so this is a meaningful recognition for us: everything about our cloud security platform is designed with the customer in mind. Our goal is for the Wiz platform to solve customer pain points that exist currently as well as in the future, and in our opinion, it’s an honor to have Forrester validate our execution and vision so highly — especially considering that this is our debut in any Wave report.

A report of this size is a massive undertaking, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the amount of effort it required on Forrester’s part. These reports aren’t for vendors (although we certainly care a lot about them!), but for the end user. In this regard, we share a common DNA. Wiz too is customer obsessed, and we applaud Forrester’s commitment to serving the technology community and — given the topic of this report — helping to make the cloud a safer place.

At Wiz, we prize delivering the best cloud security solution on the market TODAY. If we are always successful on that front, then we’ve succeeded, because it’s what customers need most.

Our ability to displace legacy offerings and leapfrog competitors is based on our founders’ early vision of a scalable, consolidated platform that makes the complex simple, and is purpose-built for cloud. With that objective as our North Star, we’ve successfully built a cloud security product that both security and development teams want. Today, more than half of Wiz users sit outside the security function, and our ability to secure AI and cloud environments is unrivaled. The new cloud operating model is a reality that has driven success for infosec teams of all sizes — from high-growth startups to over 40% of the Fortune 100, who can now build faster and more securely thanks to Wiz.

We’re only 4 years old, and looking across our customer base I encounter many stories of companies that choose Wiz over longer-standing competitors. They don’t mind that we have fewer years under our belt; all they care about is our relentless focus on execution on their behalf.

The most significant milestones on our journey so far haven’t been about us at all, but about the companies we serve. I speak on behalf of all of Wiz when I say: we’ll continue to demand excellence from ourselves in execution and innovation, with the endless goal of maximizing customer value to create measurable outcomes.

The Wiz Runtime Sensor is a prime example of how we delivered on this promise. The Sensor adds real-time detection to our agentless visibility and risk assessment capabilities. Despite only launching in September of 2023, we received the highest score possible in the criteria of agent-based cloud workload protection. That ranking underscores for us the power of our cloud-native and built-from-the-ground-up approach to combining security posture management with runtime protection.

Wiz is a good fit for organizations that need to prioritize agentless CWP, need attack path visualization, but only minimal agent-based workload protections.

The Forrester WaveTM: Cloud Workload Security, Q1 2024, by Andras Cser

I believe this finding from the Forrester report reflects the market’s rapid transformation from a heavy focus on agents to widespread adoption of agentless technology, which is more modern and less invasive — in other words, more cloud friendly. Cloud security works best when it’s built for the cloud, not adapted from on-prem approaches. Wiz will continue to innovate with this philosophy, and we’ve recently acquired Raftt to make our platform more valuable for cloud and Kubernetes developers.

Looking ahead, we’ll continue to release new product features that enable cloud security from code to runtime, including secure cloud development and protecting AI innovation in the cloud. Stay tuned for what’s to come!
